Melons that planted inside green house supposedly selected from best varieties, not common melons. It will not be mass products but premium produces with premium price to aim premium markets and customers.
The infrastructure investment for green house nowadays is very costly, thus, the high quality and productivity of such melons will effect to high price as compensation.
We have been performing trial for special varieties of melons by conducting partnership with selected growers to plant it in green houses. The seeds were selected from particular seed producers which will assist us and our growers in the cultivation procedures as well as provide necessary technical supports if required by the growers.
The trial results will be analyzed (and will do several times of re-trial if necessary), do business/commercial calculation against production and operational cost, then after final conclusion it will be introduced to markets.
Usually, the premium produces like this is not produced in big volume to fulfill domestic markets because of limited demand, but export markets.
Trial new varieties of melons is very essential, that’s why we continue our partnership with melon growers to do the trial as part of our strategy to renew our products in order to catch-up with dynamic markets.
