YSA, Yayasan Sahabat Anak – Child’s Friends Foundation (www.sahabatanak.com) is a non-profit organization in caring for the needs of children, especially those children with no homes but the streets, needs such as education, proper shelter, job training and other basic needs.

The numbers of street children in Indonesia, especially metropolitan city such as Jakarta, Surabaya, etc. tends to grow bigger and bigger. This will impact to social problems if government fails to resolve it with a prudent approach. The resolution on this problem not just to provide money but education and protection are the most important factors to take the street children out from the streets.

Amazing Farm is privileged to be one of YSA’s partners since 2007 as we have concern to help this country in reducing poverty and unemployment people by doing small contribution.

It is great to learn that our spirit is in line with the YSA’s spirit to stop giving money to street children but to empowering them by providing them with training and knowledge. We have plan to setup an organic farm for the street children whom we’ve trained and would let them manage the organic farm by themselves with our supervision. The ultimate goal is to make them dependent to no one but themselves for the sake of their future.

Currently there are six (6) members of the YSA’s street children who are housed, encouraged and trained in our farms as well as in packing house. They are there to learn and to be actively involved in production and post-production processes. They will return to society with adequate knowledge and skill, upon completion of their training, to the benefit of themselves, society and nation.
